Scope and Contents
This collection is composed of correspondence, field notes, paleontological illustrations, and monthly reports from the Vertebrate Paleontology department under Henry Anson Wylde, Science Division Chief. It includes exhibit planning materials, collections management and specimen loan information, and excavation reports from Rancho La Brea and Conkling Cavern in New Mexico.

Biographical / Historical
Henry Wylde (1908-1984) was an employtee of the Musuem of History, Science, and Art from 1924-1967, where he served as the assistant curator of Vertebrate Paleontology from 1933-1937 and Science Division Chief from 1956 until his retirement in 1967. He participated in paleontological field work at Rancho La Brea and Conkling Cavern and Shelter Cavern in New Mexico. Henry Anson Wylde was married to paleoornithologist Hildegarde Howard (1901-1998).
